Hollywood Music In Media Academy

HMM ACADEMY & VOTING BODY QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a professional in the Entertainment Industry to be eligible for HMM Academy and Voting Body Membership.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age (academic membership for students will be activated soon)
  • Performing Artist (singer and/or musician), Songwriter, Composer, Orchestrator, Lyricist, Arranger, Conductor with verifiable credits on www.allmusic.com, www.imdb.com or equivalent database resource.
  • Audio Producer, Engineer, Mixer with verifiable recording credits on www.allmusic.com, www.imdb.com or equivalent database resource.
  • Director, Producer, Actor or other Film/TV Professional with at least five years experience and verifiable on-screen credits with a known entertainment entity or music related entity. 
  • Entertainment Executive, Music Department Head or Music Publisher with at least five years experience working with known, established entertainment industry company or companies.
  • Music Supervisor with verifiable Film, TV, Video Game credits on www.imdb.com or equivalent database resource.
  • Music Journalist, Critic, Columnist and/or Media Professional with at least three published works with byline credit, or a minimum of three on-screen appearances as reporter and/or personality (all music related)
  • Entertainment Publicist / Public Relations with verifiable client list.
  • Video Game Developer or Publisher with verifiable credits of games that has music in the game(s)
  • Grammy, Golden Globe, Oscar, Emmy Award winner or nominee in any music related category
  • Music Artists, Songwriters, Composers and Industry Professionals must be a standing member of a Performing Rights Organization (BMI, ASCAP, SESAC) and/or AMRA, MSCS, JASRAC, GEMA, IPRS, RIAA, AFM, SCL, NARAS, ATAS (music branch), AMPAS (music branch), SCL, AWFC or foreign country equivalent
  • The voting academy includes the HMMA Advisory Board consultative body.
  • HMMA voting body is contacted via email or another form of electronic communication when the voting period is open.
  • Voting Ballots will be electronic and may not include all categories.

HMMA ADVISORY BOARD

The Advisory Board consists of seasoned professionals from the entertainment industry including, but not limited to, members of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, The Songwriters Hall of Fame, Society of Composers and Lyricists (SCL), the Television Academy, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), The Recording Academy (NARAS), performing rights organizations, journalists and music executives.

• Advisory Board are members of the Hollywood Music In Media Academy (Voting Body) 

• The HMMA Advisory Board consists of a select, diverse and seasoned group of entertainment professionals.

• Advisory Board membership is by invitation only.

• Board members are not required to participate in the day to day operations of the HMMA.

• Board members may be called upon from time to time for advice, suggestions, input, voting and event engagement (TBD)

• HMMA Lifetime Achievement recipients and Outstanding Career Achievement honorees are invited to join the Advisory Board or Honorary Board as a matter of protocol.
